Delete your CareJourney account

This page explains how to request deletion of your CareJourney account and related data, what is deleted, and what must be kept by law.

CareJourney accounts are created for hospital and clinic staff by their organization's administrator. Patient records in CareJourney belong to the hospital or clinic (the “Healthcare Organization”) that entered them.

1. How to request deletion (staff users)

Use either option:

1. Ask your administrator: ask your Healthcare Organization's CareJourney administrator to delete your account. They can deactivate it immediately.
2. Email us: send an email to support@ebiw.com from your registered work email address with the subject “Account deletion – CareJourney”. Include your full name, the email you sign in with, and the name of your hospital or clinic.

We will verify your identity, may confirm the request with your Healthcare Organization, and complete the deletion within 30 days of verification. We will email you when it is done.

You can also start a request from the app, where available, under Settings / Profile → Request account deletion.

2. What is deleted

• Your profile: name, contact details, job role, department and professional credentials.
• Your login access and active sessions. You are signed out on all devices.
• Your personal settings and preferences, and notifications addressed to you.

3. What is kept, and for how long

• Patient records you created or updated (consultation notes, prescriptions, documents and so on) are kept, because they belong to the Healthcare Organization and must be retained under medical-record law. Your name may remain on these records as their author.
• Audit logs of your activity are kept for security and legal compliance for the period required by law, then deleted.
• Records we must keep by law (for example, for a legal claim or a regulator's request) are kept only as long as required.

Backups containing your data are overwritten in the normal backup cycle.

4. Patients

If you are a patient and want your information accessed, corrected or deleted, contact the hospital or clinic that treated you; it controls your records. We will help that organization respond. You can also contact us and we will pass your request to the organization.

5. Healthcare Organizations

When a hospital or clinic stops using CareJourney, its administrator can request deletion or return of all its data by emailing support@ebiw.com. Data is deleted or returned after any legally required retention period.
